I imagine our biography as the grown structure of a village:
Paths lead outwards from the center in all directions, new things are built beside the old, and newcomers settle next to those who have always lived there. Our memories are experiences that have stuck—ones that occasionally fall into our hands by chance and allow us to feel the passing of time.

I’m interested in the life stories of people and places. I ask questions, listen, find, collect, and in this way explore origins and change, ruptures and continuity.
My books serve to preserve and reorganize. We can read on different levels. And as we turn the pages, time passes.
