Life is accompanied by dreams and aspirations that are either fulfilled or eventually abandoned. Our ability to adapt and to develop new plans provides us with a rich repertoire for dealing with our wishes. Sometimes, however, the dreams we achieve prove to be the more difficult companions in life.
Six people from different generations describe moments in their lives that led to dreams becoming unimportant, whether they were fulfilled or not.
More than speaking about them, writing these thoughts down requires a confrontation with one’s own actions and an awareness that decisions are always made within the circumstances of their time. What emerges is a reflection on one’s personal attitude within the context of a past era.
